Obituary

Worcester – William T. Kewley III, 86, of Worcester, passed away on Friday, November 18th at home after a brief illness with his family by his side.

Bill was married for 49 years to the late Marguerite R. (Gosselin) Kewley, who died in 2004. He is survived by a son, William T. Kewley IV and his wife, Sharon of Worcester; three daughters, Kathleen A. Lemay and her husband, John of Worcester, Maureen M. Kewley of Worcester and Patricia J. Kewley of Worcester; five grandchildren, Elizabeth R. Parris and her husband Robert, Kate L. Prue and her husband Tim, Aimee E. Lincoln and her husband Paul, William T. Kewley V and Brianna E. Kewley; five great grandchildren, Michaela, Samuel, Ashlyn, Lucas and Emma Parris and many nephews and nieces.

Mr. Kewley was born in Worcester, son of the late, William T. Kewley Jr. and Mary Jane (Hyland) Kewley. He is also predeceased by a son David B. Kewley and two brothers, Lawrence and John “Jack” Kewley.

Bill is a graduate of Worcester Boy’s Trade and worked at the J.J. Nissen Company as a truck driver for 37 years. He was a longtime member at Our Lady of the Rosary Church and volunteered faithfully for over 25 years at bingo.

Bill belonged to Teamster’s Local 170 and was an active member in the Greendale Retired Men’s Club. He was an excellent story teller and enjoyed taking day trips to Foxwoods. However, first and foremost, family came before all else in his life. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bill especially enjoyed his family trips to Cape Cod.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Kathleen O’Grady, Dr. Deepti Kumar, Dr. Cesar Lopez Aguilar, the VNA Hospice as well as the doctors and nurses at St. Vincent Hospital for the exceptional care, love and support that was shown to Bill and his family.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, November 22nd from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. with a funeral mass at 10 AM in Our Lady of the Rosary Church 25 Fales St. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Monday, November 21st from 5 to 8 PM in the funeral home. Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Kewley may be made to the American Heart Association PO Box 417005 Boston, MA 02241 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105.
