FORT MYERS, FL: William A. Scott, 76, of Fort Myers, Fla., died on August 13, 2016 at Hope Hospice, Fort Myers. He was the beloved husband of Patricia (Silverio) Scott.
Born in Beverly on March 10, 1940, he was the son of the late Richard and Theresa (Arsenault) Scott. He was a graduate of Beverly High School class of 1957 and had served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He had resided in Hamilton and Beverly for many years before moving to Fort Myers, Florida nine years ago.
Bill worked at Gorton’s of Gloucester for several years before his retirement. He had also once worked in the leather industry at A.C. Lawrence and Carr Leather for many years. He was also an avid golfer.
In addition to his wife of fifty-eight years, he is survived by three sons, Richard Scott and his wife, Katherine of Amesbury, William A. Scott, Jr. of Hamilton and Stephen Scott and his wife, Karen of Haverhill; one daughter, Lisa Hart and her husband, Kenneth of Georgetown; three grandchildren, Jamie Conway and her husband, Mark of NY, Michael Scott and his wife, Auy of CA, and Marshall Scott of Haverhill; two great-grandchildren, Sophia Conway of NY and Makayla Scott of CA; one brother, David Scott of Maryland and his sister-in-law, Kathleen McCullough and her husband, Joseph of Beverly and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his sister, Theresa Gerrish and two brothers, Leonard and James Scott.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, November 25th in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot St., Beverly from 4 – 6 p.m. with a memorial service at 6 p.m.. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent in his memory to Hope Hospice, 9470 Healthpark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908.
