Carby, Joan (Anderton), 91, of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2016.
Joan is a native of Bolton, England and had served in the British Army during WWII as a radio operator copying German messages for the Enigma Project. Joan met her husband the dashing paratrooper during the war. She is a member of Briargate Presbyterian Church and had retired from Brown & Williamson Tobbacco Co.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Elmo Lee Carby: Son, Colin Carby.
Survivors include her two children, Terry Carby (Shirley) & Valerie Holmes (Donnie); three grandchildren, Joshua, Allen(Robyn) & Marisa; three great grandchildren, Alexis, Autumn & Trysten.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday at Briargate Presbyterian Church 2100 Upper Hunters Trace with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 2:00 – 8:00 P.M. Sunday at Owen Funeral Home 5317 Dixie Hwy.
