Bobby Lassiter, 80, of Tifton passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2016, at Tift Regional Medical Center. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mr. Lassiter at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, November 19, 2016, at Pineview Holiness Baptist Church Cemetery in Tifton, where he will be laid to rest. The Rev. John Cone and the Rev. Gerald Mallard will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday, November 18, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Daniel Mallard, Josh Mallard, Wesley Lassiter, Billy Hester, Thomas Horton and Chris Bromlow will serve as pallbearers.
Born June 20, 1936 in Jennings, Florida, Mr. Lassiter was the son of the late Norman Wesley Lassiter and Gertrude Smith Lassiter. He was also preceded in death by his “Mother and Father”, Eunie and Rayford Lassiter, who raised him; a daughter, Debbie Lassiter Goforth; two brothers, Shine Lassiter and Coy Lassiter; and five sisters, Eunie Mae Bromlow, Ora Dell Tucker, Dona Mae Walker, Gladys Lassiter and Manona Hollis. He was retired from the City of Tifton.
Mr. Lassiter is survived by his wife, Martha “Elizabeth” Hester Lassiter of Tifton; two daughters and one son-in-law, Mary Beth Goforth of Tifton and Jean and Gerald Mallard of Alapaha; two sons and daughters-in-law, Travis and Donna Lassiter and Roger and Lori Lassiter, all of Tifton; his grandchildren and their spouses, Daniel and Karla Mallard, Josh and Hali Mallard, Wesley Lassiter, Ali Reiman and Karlee Soto; and his great-grandchildren, Gabby Mallard, Kason Mallard, Avery Mallard and Kyli Garretson.
