Obituary

Whitman – It is with heavy hearts that the family of Francis P. Spetrini announces his passing peacefully in the early morning of November 8, 2016; doing something he loved, cruising on the deep blue sea with his beloved wife of 47 years Laura (Tierney) Spetrini.

Born in Dorchester on February 19, 1950 he was the son of the late Mary (Broccio) and Frederick Spetrini.

Prior to his retirement in 2012 he had worked for over 22 years as a computer programmer for the State of Massachusetts.

During his retirement he had loved to visit family. He had enjoyed traveling by train as well as ship and had traveled to many locations as far away as London with his wife Laura, and the Bahamas was truly one of his favorite destinations.

In addition to his wife Laura he is survived by his loving children Francis Spetrini, Jr and his wife Kelly of Falmouth, Peter Spetrini and his wife Dawn of Marysville, TN, Angela Spetrini of Whitman and Earl Spetrini and his wife Allison of Whitman and his brothers Frederick and Gerrard Spetrini origionally of Dorchester. He was a loving “Gramper” “Grampa” and “Bepa” to his eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

His funeral service and “celebration of his life” will be held Saturday November 19 at 12:00 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow in the Colebrook Cemetery, Whitman. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 10:00-12:00.

The family asks that those attending dress in bright colors in order to make this a true celebration of his life. He will be sorely missed by those who had known him and loved him.
