Obituary



Abington - Margaret M. (Kendall) DeLong 87, a longtime resident of Abington, died Sunday November 13 in the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital, after a period of failing health. She was the beloved wife of 65 years to Robert W. DeLong, Sr.

Born and raised in Randolph she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Gertrude (Gaffey) Kendall and a graduate of Randolph High School.

Margaret was a proud veteran, having served as a Private First Class in the US Air Force.

Margaret had been a familiar face locally, having worked many years at the former “Not Just Seafood” of Rockland.

She enjoyed bowling, playing bingo and dining out at local restaurants!

In addition to her husband Robert she is survived by her children Barbara Graves and her husband Douglas, Kevin DeLong, Mary Hickey and her husband Wayne, Kathleen Hain and her husband Bruce, Philip DeLong and his wife Deborah as well as twelve grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sons Robert Jr. and James DeLong.

Family and friends are invited to attend her visiting hours to be held Sunday November 20 from 2:00-5:00 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Her funeral service will be held Monday November 21 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel. Burial will follow in the Mount Vernon Cemetery, Abington.
