Ann (Catanzaro) Avellino of Medford died on Monday, November 14, at the Massachusetts General Hospital. Born and raised in Boston's North End, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Vita (Marino) Catanzaro. Ann lived in Everett before moving to Medford in 1955.
Ann was the beloved wife of the late Albert Avellino, and the devoted mother of Greta Silvestro and her husband Michael, Vita Philpot and her husband Michael, all of Medford, Stephen Avellino and his wife Tegan of Reading, and the late Frank Avellino. She was the loving grandmother of Michael, Peter, Suzann, Greg, Christopher, Curtis, Max, Isabella, Sofia, and Phoebe, and the loving great grandmother of Mikey, Karly, Anthony, Dominic, Joey, Gianna, Nico, Jake, Vinnie, Lucia, and Brielle. Ann is also survived by many loving relatives and friends.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 19, at 11:30 AM in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, from 9 through 11 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
