Obituary

WORCESTER-Thomas O’Connor, 98, of 140 Fairmont Avenue died Saturday, August 13th, in Radius Healthcare, Millbury. He leaves his wife of 68 years, Mary “Marion” (Flynn) O’Connor of Worcester, a son; Thomas J. O’Connor of Seattle, WA, 3 daughters; Mary E. Army, Kathleen S., wife of John Gagliastro, and Eileen A., wife of Donald Lush all of Worcester, 2 sisters; Delia O’Gorman and Kathleen Malone both of County Clare, Ireland, 14 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. 4 brothers; James, Sean, Mihael and Patrick O’Connor, and 2 sisters; Mary Neylon and Nell McMahon predeceased him.

He was born in County Clare, Ireland the son of John and Catherine (McMahon) O’Connor and came to Worcester in 1929. Mr. O’Connor was employed as a custodian at the College of the Holy Cross for 10 years before retiring in 1970. Previously he worked for Graton and Knights and as a bartender for the Wagon Wheels Tavern. He was a member of St. Stephen's Parish, its Men’s Club and pitch league and Bartenders Local 95. Mr. O'Connor enjoyed gardening and long walks.

The funeral is Wednesday, August 17th, from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 11:30 AM in St. Stephen's Church, 357 Grafton Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday, August 16th, from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
