Linda M. Johnson, 76

Dateline: Mansfield, MA

Linda (Mitchell) Johnson, age 76, of Mansfield, formerly of West Windsor, VT, Westport, CT and Wellesley passed away peacefully, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her adoring family on Tuesday, November 15, 2016.

Born in Wellesley, MA on August 8, 1940, she was a loving daughter of the late Frank J., Sr. and Elizabeth F. (Fisher) Mitchell.

Linda grew up in Wellesley and Sherborn and was a 1958 graduate of the Beaver Country Day School. She furthered her education, receiving an Associates Degree from Briar Cliff University where she majored in English.

Prior to retiring, she had worked as an Office Manager at Modem Media in Norwalk, CT. She had made her home in Mansfield for the past one and a half years.

Linda was an accomplished equestrian, skier, scuba diver and enjoyed many years of boating in Darian, CT. She was also a member and an active volunteer at the Green Mountain Horse Association in South Woodstock, VT.

Linda treasured times spent with her family and socializing amongst friends. She traveled extensively throughout the world, and when younger had enjoyed painting pictures.

She is survived by her devoted children Bryan M. Johnson and his wife Kristie of Tucson, Arizona, and Avery M. Collard and her husband Jeffrey of North Attleboro. She was the dear sister of the late Tom W. Mitchell and Frank Joseph Mitchell, Jr., and is also survived by her cherished grandchildren Grace Collard, Caroline Collard, Sarah Johnson and Abby Melkers, as well as several nieces and nephews, and her former husband Dana K. Johnson.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a service in celebration of her life on Sunday, December 11th at 12:30 P.M. in St Mary’s Episcopal Church, 43 Foreside Road, Falmouth, Maine.
