Obituary

CHICOPEE - Lorraine A. (Chartier) Lachance, 92, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, November 12, 2016. She passed into Eternal Life at the Linda Manor Extended Care Facility in Leeds surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Chicopee on June 1, 1924, a beloved daughter of the late George P. and Mary Jane (Marshall) Chartier. She was raised in Chicopee, attended Chicopee schools and was a lifelong resident of Chicopee. She was employed as an inspector at Stevens Arms in Chicopee. She was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. Above all, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister who showered her family with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Ernest J. Lachance who was Called Home on January 22, 1983. They were married on May 20, 1944 at Sainte Rose de Lima Church and were blessed with over 38 years of happiness together. She leaves her seven loving children, Noella J. Coderre and her husband, Gerald, of Loris, SC, Estelle L. Houle and her husband, Robert, of Chicopee, Paul J. Lachance and his wife, Jennie, of Palmer, Mary Ann Rosinski and her husband, Donald, of Vernon, VT, Pauline R. Clapp and her husband, Raymond, of Chicopee, Daniel T. Lachance and his wife, Patricia, of Plainfield and Richard A. Lachance and his wife, Carey, of Heath; her 21 cherished grandchildren; her many cherished great-grandchildren; her dear brother, Robert Chartier and his wife, Annette, of Ware; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Lachance and Chartier families. Besides her parents and her husband, she was also predeceased by her two dear sisters, Lillian Beaudoin and Doris Fournier. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, November 18, 2016 at 9 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. There are no visiting hours at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
