Christine Mary (Caruso) Kennedy, age 65, of Melbourne, FL formerly of New Bedford, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at William Childs Hospice House in Palm Bay, FL.
She was the wife of Bruce A. Kennedy.
Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Rudolph and Palmina (Pasquantonio) Caruso, she lived in New Bedford before moving to Melbourne, FL in 2002. Christine graduated from New Bedford High School in 1969. She was a Medical Transcriptionist for 47 years with St. Luke's Hospital and Nuance Communication.
In addition to her husband of forty years, she is survived by her son, James Michael Kennedy of Melbourne, FL; a brother, Paul Caruso and his wife Nancy of Bristol, RI; 4 sisters, Elena Caruso and her companion Paul Caplan of S. Dartmouth, Regina Jalbert and her husband Richard of S. Dartmouth, Patricia Arruda and her husband Steven of Westport and Andrea Caruso of New Bedford; nieces Cheryl Curtis and her husband Jeff of Needham, Carolyn, Catherine, and Christina Caruso of Bristol, RI, Allison and Lauren Arruda of Westport; nephew Brian Jalbert of S. Dartmouth; 1 great-niece Bailey Curtis, 2 great-nephews, Ryan and Emmett Curtis all of Needham. Christine was also Godmother to Michelle Leete of Puyallup, WA, Lauren Arruda of Westport and Laura Dunn Ross of Fairhaven.
Her Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 3rd at 9 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, December 2nd from 4-8 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
