James L. Heck 89, passed away Saturday November 12, 2016 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was a retired plant manager for the old South Central Bell, a member of Highview Baptist Church and a former founding member of Chapel Park Baptist Church, a Navy veteran of WWll, a member of the Telephone Pioneers and an avid U of K fan.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Norma Christine.
He is survived by his son, Larry Heck (Sandi); and daughter, Nancy Lynn Koller (Tom); sisters, Dortha Doherty, Margaret “Peggy” Brumleve and Clarice Poynter; eight grandchildren, Mindy Heck, Tiffany Koller, Holly Willen (Joey), Ashley Koller, Ryan Koller, James Koller (Mandy), Joseph Heck and Nathan Koller; and two great-granddaughters, Emma and Heidi Willen.
His funeral service will be Wednesday 11 am at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., with burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens, West.
Visitation will be Tuesday 12pm to 8 pm.
