New Bedford – Roseline Lopes, age 94 of New Bedford, passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Charles S. Lopes and the daughter of the late Manuel and Emily (Cabral) Duarte.
Born in New Bedford, She worked as a retail clerk for many years until her retirement. She also enjoyed playing bingo and keno as well as vacationing in Florida.
She is survived by 3 children: Charles M. Lopes, Susan Lopes and Rose Lopes, all of New Bedford; 3 grandchildren: Dennisa Lopes, Deneah Lopes and Dre Mendes; a sister, Natalie Rose of New Bedford; as well as 5 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her siblings: Joseph, John, Alphonse, Manuel, Louis and August Duarte and Hilda Gomes.
Visitation will take place from 9 -11 A.M. on Thursday in the funeral home with a service to begin at 11 A.M. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. New Bedford, MA 02740.
