New Bedford – Alfonso Nieves Hernandez, age 65 of New Bedford, passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at his home in surrounded by his family.
Born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, Alfonso was beloved son of the late Alfonso Nieves Serano and Andrea Hernandez. He worked in construction for many years until his retirement.
He is survived by 3 children: Sharon Nieves and Juan Ramos, both of New Bedford and Nelson Nieves of Puerto Rico; grandchildren: Aaron Nunez and Lyanis Nunez; his dear friend, Wanda I. Santiago; daughter in-law Sandra Torres; as well as several siblings, nieces and nephews.
Alfonso will be cremated. Services are omitted. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. New Bedford, MA 02740.
