Scarborough, Lelia Barnard (Fulkerson), 88, passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at Georgetown Manor.
She was born in Echols, KY on July 30, 2016 to the late John & Grace Fulkerson the sixth of ten children. Lelia was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church and more recently attended Shively Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by her past husbands, James Barnard and Clarence Scarborough, three brothers and three sisters.
Lelia is survived by her children, Tony Barnard (Beverly), Timmy Barnard (Cathy) and Becky Johnson (Gary); sisters, Peggy Schrader (Doug), Evelyn Gaither (Gene), and brother, Monty Fulkerson (Jeanie); seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews; and seven step children, Steve (Brenda), Carolyn (Lee), John (Donna), Joanie (James), David, Peggy and Kathy (Tim).
The family would like to thank the staff of Heartsong Memory Care and Georgetown Manor for their excellent care and kindness.
Funeral will be Monday, at 12:00 noon at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens, West.
Visitation will be Sunday, 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Shively Baptist Church Building Fund.
