Obituary

Martin D. Farnsworth, 82, of Franklin, died peacefully Thursday, November 10, 2016 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Lillian M. (Seale) Farnsworth, who passed away in December, 2015.

Born in Pontiac, Michigan on April 10, 1934, he was the son of the late Arthur D. and Lina C. (Luis) Farnsworth. Mr. Farnsworth grew up in Pontiac and resided in Natick until moving to Franklin in 1984.

He proudly served in the Navy for 4 years during the Korean War.

Retiring in 1993, Mr. Farnsworth worked as a lineman at AT&T for many years.

He was a member of IBEW Electrical Workers Union 2325, a life member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, and was also a member of the America Legion of Boston and the Medway VFW. He was a past master of the Masonic Lodge of Elusis in Braintree and was affiliated with the Meridian Lodge of Natick.

Mr. Farnsworth was an avid Michigan University football fan and loved movies and music.

He is survived by; his daughter Karen Dansereau and her husband Walter of Derby, Kansas, his son Thomas Farnsworth and his wife Bonnie of Leominster, his daughter-in-law Paula Farnsworth of Franklin, 10 grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by; two brothers, Edward Farnsworth of Waterford, MI and Howard Farnsworth of Drayton Plains, MI, three sisters, Betty Bone and Barbara Meecham , both of Waterford, MI and Bonnie DeLafuente of Mercedes, TX and many nieces and nephews.

He was the father of the late Duane Farnsworth and brother of the late Arthur Farnsworth, Jr., Donald Farnsworth and Sandra DeLafuente.

Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service on Tuesday, November 15 at 10 a.m. in the Franklin Federated Church, 171 Main St. in Franklin. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Medway

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 5 - 8 p.m. in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home; 3 Barber St. in Medway (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Disabled American Veterans, State House - Room 546, Boston, MA 02133.
