Augustine “Gus” Sheedy Jr., 84, a lifelong resident of Derry, NH, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at the Pleasant Valley Nursing Center in Derry. He was born on March 1, 1932 in Derry, a son of the late Irene (Bertrand) and Augustine Sheedy Sr. Augustine worked for Merrimack Tile Co. as a floor and wall mechanic, retiring after 40 years in 1996. He was a member of the Antique Auto Club and was an avid Railroading enthusiast. He loved his John Deere tractor. Augustine also loved playing 45’s and enjoyed Bingo with the Parkland Seniors.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Pearl (Scott) Sheedy of Derry, one son, Kip Sheedy and his wife Diana of Bedford, NH, one brother, George Sheedy and his wife Rosemary of Greensboro, GA, three sisters, Paula Davis and her husband Milt of Manchester, Marylou Tomkiewicz of the Villages, FL, and Karen Dolan of Goffstown, one sister in law, E. Gay Sheedy of Londonderry, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister, Margaret Sheedy Billingsley, and two brothers, William Sheedy Sr. and Robert F. Sheedy Sr.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, a graveside service was held on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 10:00am in the Forest Hill Cemetery, East Derry Road, East Derry. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium are handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Christian Fellowship Baptist Church, 5 Rockingham Rd., Londonderry, NH 03053.
