SUDBURY: Dennis S. Ward, 84, formerly of Natick and Wellesley, died peacefully and comfortably surrounded by his family following a period of declining health.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jennifer (Challinor) Ward. He was the father of Kay Ward of Jamesville, NY, Simon Ward and his wife, Sylvia of West Peabody, and Martin Ward of Aurora, CO. He was the brother of Donald Ward of Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, UK. and is survived by his five grandchildren, Valerie, Andrew, and Lauren Ward, and Nicholas and Brittany Wentworth.
Dennis was educated at Kingswood School, Bath,UK and the University of London – Northampton College where he received his BS in Computer Science. He was associated with Honeywell-Bull for over 30 years and retired as a Systems Architect. Dennis was an avid tennis player and a member of the Wellesley Tennis Association. He enjoyed sailing and was associated with the 5 Island Yacht Club in Maine. He also enjoyed chess, traveling, photography, woodwork, gardening, and visiting art museums. A lover of all music, Dennis was an enthusiastic concert attendee as well as an accomplished pianist.
A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 10:00 AM at The Unitarian Universalist Society of Wellesley Hills, 309 Washington Street (Rte. 16), Wellesley Hills.
