Obituary

Annie W. “Geanie” Tyler, age 88, died peacefully at her home on Tuesday, November 8th. She was born September 15, 1928 in the little white house south of the Ball Park, known later as Miss Dixie Hendrix house. Geanie was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Water Valley and the Rook Club. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who always wanted her family around her at home or on trips. Geanie worked as a telephone switchboard operator and tinted portraits. She managed the elementary school cafeteria; and she managed the Concession Stand at the Ballpark where she was everybody’s “Mamaw”, and where you could get the best hamburger in the world.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at First United Methodist Church in Water Valley, MS with Rev. Alan McGraw officiating.

Geanie is survived by her daughters, Nancy Brooks Tyler and Mary Brooks Tyler; her son, John Caldwell; her grandchildren, Twinkle VanWinkle, Braden VanWinkle Sheldon, and John Michael Caldwell; sons-in-law, Brett Bonner, George Sheldon, and Tyler Koontz; daughter-in-law, Pam Caldwell; her great-grandchildren, Rosemarie Murphy, Aiden Koontz, Bobby Koontz, Lawson Sheldon, Geanie Louise Sheldon and Darla Anne Sheldon.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, James Brooks “Crip” Tyler.
