Robert “Bob” Franklin DeVore, Sr., 76, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, November 12, 2016, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Ocilla, Georgia, with the Rev. Steve Hand and the Rev. Rex Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Salem Cemetery in Ben Hill County. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mr. DeVore was born July 25, 1940, in Palestine, Illinois, to the late Noah and Cora Bingham DeVore. He moved to Ocilla three years ago from Florida, where he was a former truck driver. Mr. Devore served his country honorably in the United States Army and was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years: Esther Elaine Faulk DeVore of Ocilla; children: Robert Franklin DeVore, Jr. and his wife Annie of Dufuniak Springs, Florida, Bobby David Adkinson and his wife Denise of Ocilla, Elizabeth Faye Merritt-Williamson of Rochelle and Cynthia Renee Rowell and her husband Robert of Rochelle; seven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
