Obituary

Rene R. “Butch” Bergeron, Jr., 55 of Blackstone passed away peacefully with his family by his side Tuesday November 8, 2016 at Milford Regional Medical Center.
Born and raised in Woonsocket he was a son of Rene R. and Florence (Bergeron) Bergeron of North Smithfield. He was a resident of Blackstone for the past several years.
A 1979 graduate of Woonsocket High School, Butch worked as a color specialist in fabrics at several area firms including the former Florence Dye, Dennison Co, Microfiber in Pawtucket and Guilford of Maine.
Butch was a staunch New England Patriots fan and enjoyed fishing and gardening. He has a special place in his heart for his numerous pets including fish, turtles and reptiles. He was most at home relaxing and spending an evening in front of one his famous roaring conflagrations, aka “Butch’s campfire”. The music of classic rock was the rhythm of Butch’s life.
Butch will be remembered as a kind and loving person, always willing to help others. He was a deeply spiritual person who saw the good and positive qualities in everyone he met.
In addition to his parents Butch is survived by his son Derrick Bergeron and his wife, Nicole, of North Kingstown, his grandchildren Finnegan and Oliver Bergeron, two brothers Daniel Bergeron and his wife, Bonny, of Delaware and Timothy Bergeron and his wife, Amy, of Cumberland. He was the former husband and friend Louise Bergeron of Oakland. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and their families.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 10:30 am in St. Joseph Church, Mendon Rd. Woonsocket. Burial will be private. Arrangements are by the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket.
