Theodora “Teddie” (Hurd) Urquhart, 86, of Walpole, died November 6 in the Maples Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Wrentham.
Born in Boston, September 22, 1930, the daughter of the late Theodore and Ida (Smith) Hurd, Mrs. Urquhart was a lifelong Walpole resident.
She was a 1950 graduate of Walpole High School.
Teddie had worked over the years at the A&P meat packing warehouse in Westwood, in the cafeteria of the Boyden School, as a driver for the Kiesling Transportation, a cashier at the Good Food Store, a clerk at the Printworks and Reliable Cleaners in Wrentham and Millis and as a caregiver for HESCO in Norwood and Walpole, from where she retired in 2009.
She enjoyed going camping, playing bingo at Neponset View Terrace, bus trips to Castle Island and Stop & Shop and her Friday Night Diners with her daughter and 2 cousins which always ended with the four of them driving around and singing country music songs.
She is survived by her children, Donna Driscoll and her husband Bill of Mansfield, Theodore “Ted” Urquhart and his wife Margaret of Walpole and Peter and his fiancé Beverly Orlando of Plainville.
She is also survived by her brother Warren Hurd and his wife Janet of Norfolk and sister Isabelle Gingras of Bridgton, Maine.
Teddie is also survived by her grandchildren, Tracy Zukoski and her husband Tom of Mill Valley, California and Stevie Urquhart and his wife Jeannine of East Bridgewater and her great-grandson Theodore Thomas Zukowski. She was the former wife of Donald Urquhart of Walpole.
Her funeral service will be held on Friday, November 11 in the Ginley Funeral Home (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 892 Main Street, Walpole at 10:00. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Walpole.
Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 4-8 p.m.
