TEWKSBURY - Mrs. Gladys M. (Doliber) Benoit, age 91, died peacefully on Saturday night, November 5, in the loving care of her family and hospice caregivers, at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill. She was the beloved wife of the late John H. “Jinks” Benoit who died in 2005.
She was born in Lowell, in June 1925, a twin daughter of the late Frederick and Anna (LaDuke) Doliber, and raised in Lowell. After her marriage to “Jinks” they moved to Tewksbury to raise their family, and later lived in Chelmsford.
In earlier years, in addition to her duties as a mother, she worked in the Test Department at Microwave Associates, and later as a store clerk at Bradlee’s and WalMart in Chelmsford.
She is survived by her son, John H. Benoit Jr. of FL, predeceased by her daughter, Jean Elizabeth Benoit; leaves six grandchildren, Jacqueline Barry of Pepperell, Raymond Francisco of Methuen, Lenore Benoit and Christine “Crissy” Benoit of NH, Johnny Benoit and Shannon Benoit of NC; her beloved twin sister Dorothy Benoit of Tewksbury; her principal caregiver, Leslie Aberhim of Tewksbury; many nieces and nephews, and members of the extended Benoit family.
Relatives and friends will be received Wednesday, Nov. 9, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte. 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, Ph. (800 in MA or 978) 851 2950. Her Funeral Service will follow at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by burial in Tewksbury Cemetery.
