Obituary

Shirley D. (Brillant) Blanchette, 89, of Beverly, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at the Beverly Hospital following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Arthur J. ‘Buster” Blanchettte.

Born and raised in Salem, she was a graduate of Salem High. Shirley devoted her early married years to the raising of her family. As her children entered school she began working for GTE Sylvania. She worked for Sylvania for many years and was a member of the Quarter Century Club.

Shirley loved her family and caring for then, as well as cleaning, shopping, cards and bingo. As one of seven girls, she was also devoted to her large extended family. She and her family moved to Beverly from Salem in 1963.

She is survived by two daughters, Claire C. Mc Cudden of Salem, Yvette L. Granacki of Beverly, her son Paul N. Blanchette of Beverly, three grandsons, Tyler Granacki, Richard Blanchette and Thomas A. Mc Cudden. She also leaves two great-granddaughters, Amanda & Kristen Blanchette, nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visiting hours on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM in the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St., [Route 114 / 1-A] Salem, to be followed by her Funeral Mass in Ste. Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Ave., Salem at 11:00 AM. A committal of her ashes will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
