John M. Richardson, Jr., 81, of Medway, MA passed away on November 5. He was the loving husband of Ann Richardson for 58 years.
Born on December 3, 1934 in Somerville, MA, son of the late John M. Richardson and late Ann Lydon, John was the founder of Richardson Enterprises, an accounting and investment firm, in Medway, MA and spent more than 40 years taking exceptional care of his clients.
An Air Force veteran of the Korean War, John donated his time and expertise to the Disabled American Veterans Department of Massachusetts, and contributed countless hours to the needs of the homeless. A kind and compassionate man, John was the recipient of Cheverus Award Medal in recognition of his service to the Catholic community in the Boston Archdiocese.
In addition to his wife, John is survived by his seven children and their spouses – Cheryl and Michael Gerrish of Newburyport, MA, Steven and Janice Richardson of Medway, MA, Donna and Tom Godino of Medfield, MA, Lisa and Walter Johnson of Medway, MA, Michelle and Mark Tomaso of Milford, MA, Robert and Karen Richardson of Uxbridge, MA, and Kerri Richardson and Melissa Silk of Groton, CT, his 14 grandchildren - David, James, Olivia, Maeve, Thomas, John, Liamarie, Lindsay, Justine, Rachel, Jacob, Amanda, JR, and Matthew, and his great grandson, Vincent.
John is also survived by his brother, Bill Richardson and sister, Virginia McDonough. His sister, Doris Martin, predeceased him.
A funeral service will be held November 10, at 11am at St. Joseph’s Church, 151 Village St., Medway, MA. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
