Rosa Lee Chambers Luke, 87, of Tifton passed away Sunday, November 6, 2016, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2016, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Billy Sumner and the Rev. Marshall Kennedy officiating. Mrs. Luke will be laid to rest at Turner Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Enigma. The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 8, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Jason Luke, Jody Luke, David Luke, Marshall McDonald, T. J. Luke, Tyler Luke, Farron O’Neal and Brian Rowland will serve as pallbearers.
Born May 1, 1929 in Acworth (Bartow County), Mrs. Luke was the daughter of the late Johnny Chambers and Merle March Anderson Chambers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Luke; one son, Timmy Luke; and one brother, Jack C. Chambers. She retired from the Community Service Center at the Coastal Plains Economic Opportunity Authority and was a member of Corinth Freewill Baptist Church in Brookfield. She loved her family, especially her children and grandchildren and her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She also loved to plant flowers.
Mrs. Luke is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenny and Becky Luke of Enigma and Michael Tony and Wendy Luke of Brookfield; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Jason and Casey Luke, Jody and Ashley Luke, David Luke, Marshall and Lindsay McDonald, LeAnne and Brian Rowland, T. J. Luke and Tyler and Brittany Luke; and five great-grandchildren, Brady Rowland, Charley Luke, Callie Luke, Trinity Longacre and Mila Luke.
