Obituary

Emma Dell Hendley Brooks, 80, of Nashville passed away Sunday, November 6, 2016, at home following a long illness. In accordance with Mrs. Brooks' wishes, she will be cremated and laid to rest at a later date at Westview Cemetery in Nashville.

Born July 27, 1936 in Berrien County, Mrs. Brooks was the daughter of the late June F. Hendley and Bessie Belle Sutton Hendley. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Bud Hendley. She was a school teacher by profession in the State of Georgia and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Nashville. She was also a member of the National Educators Association and the Georgia Association of Educators. She had lived in Nashville for the past 21 years.

Mrs. Brooks is survived by her husband of 58 years, James Allen Brooks of Nashville; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Zachary Brooks of Nashville and Scott and Karen Brooks of Atlanta; two grandchildren, Connor Stormer Brooks and Holly Elara Brooks; one brother and sister-in-law, J. W. and Shirley Hendley of Nashville; a sister-in-law, Judy Hendley of Calhoun; and several nieces and nephews.
