Obituary

NATICK: Richard B. “Dick” Rogers, of Natick, age 82, beloved husband and best friend for 60 years of Marjorie (Wilkins) Rogers, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2016 after a courageous battle with interstitial pulmonary disease. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of Norman W. and Marjorie (Curtis) Rogers.

In addition to his wife Marge, he was the devoted father to his children, Rick Rogers and wife Sara-Jane of Acton, Deborah Rogers Duval and husband Duncan of Framingham and Scott Rogers of Concord. Loving Grandpy to Jasmine Laffin and husband Tim, Jessica Towne and husband Greg, Cameron Duval, Adam Rogers and fiancée Jen Noonan, Leah Rogers, and Nathan Rogers. Doting Great-Grandpy to Derek, Piper, Tripp, Scotia and Felix Richard. More than anything in life, Dick treasured his family and the many longtime friendships he had.

Dick was a longtime resident of Natick and worked for the Town before joining Fay Spofford and Thorndike, Inc. where he worked as a specification writer. Upon retirement, he volunteered for nineteen years at the Consumer Assistance Office MetroWest.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 from 4 – 8 PM at the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Dick’s Life on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at 11 AM at the Wellesley Village Church UCC, 2 Central Street, Wellesley. A private interment will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, his family suggests that donations be made in his memory to the American Lung Association, 1661 Worcester Rd. Suite 301, Framingham, MA 01701.
