Jean Ruth Duffy, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life suddenly at her home in Charlestown on Thursday, November 3, 2016. She was 67 years old.
Jean was born in Boston on October 29, 1949, a daughter of the late George T. Duffy and Ruth (Cunniff) Duffy. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated at St. Mary's Parochial School and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1967. Jean worked as a Clerk for New England Telephone Company and retired following 32 years of dedicated employment. Jean enjoyed the simpler things in life and was dedicated to her 3 brothers and their families.
Jean is the beloved daughter of the late George T. Duffy and Ruth (Cunniff) Duffy. She is the devoted sister of George T. Duffy Jr. of Charlestown, Boston Firefighter James Duffy and his wife Debbie of South Boston and Edward Duffy and his wife Debbie of Stoneham. She is the loving aunt to several nieces and nephews. She is the beloved niece of the late Anna Brennan. She is the dear cousin of Bernie Brennan and his wife Joanne.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jean's Funeral on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at 10 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 11 A.M. Her burial will be private. Her visiting hours will be on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
