Eileen May (Prescott) Antil, 83, of New Bedford, passed away Saturday, November 5, 2016 after a long illness, at home surrounded by family.
She was the wife of Robert H. Antil, with whom they just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in June. Mrs. Antil also celebrated her 83rd birthday on Thursday. She lived a devoted family life.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Howard and Freda Prescott, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
Eileen and Robert were the proprietors of Bob & Eileen’s Super Variety in New Bedford.
She enjoyed music, jewelry, shopping, crafts, and attending Active Day of New Bedford. She most enjoyed times spent with family and friends.
Survivors include her husband; her 6 children, Jeffrey Antil and his wife Nancy of Fairhaven, Tammy Souza and her husband Mark of Northport, Florida, Susan Lamoureux and her husband Roger of Coventry, Rhode Island, Joseph Antil of New Bedford, Robert Antil and his wife Heidi of North Dartmouth and Shirley Antil of New Bedford; a sister, Shirley Baptiste and her husband Edwin; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Howard Prescott, Jr., Ella Sylvia and Peggy Richards.

Her Funeral will be held on Tuesday, November 8th at 9 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours Monday, November 7th from 4-8 PM.
