Obituary

In Taunton, November 2, 2016 Carolyn P. (Kelly) Schindelwig, age 77, passed away in Morton Hospital following a brief illness. Carolyn was the wife the late Kenneth D. Schindelwig. She was born in Taunton, the daughter of the late Floyd & Marie (Reilly) Kelly. Carolyn graduated from Taunton High School in 1956, and received a bachelor of science degree from Bridgewater State College in 1960 and her masters in education from Leslie College in 1988. Before retiring she served as a second grade teacher at E. Pole School for twenty five years. Prior to that she taught at Caswell School in Taunton and Briggs Corner School in Attleboro. She was a member of the Taunton Teachers Association, MA Teachers Association, the Retired Teachers Association, the N.E.A. , the retired State County Municipal Employees Association and the St. Ann’s Seniors. Carolyn was also a communicant and lector at St. Ann’s Church in Raynham. Carolyn leaves her loving daughters Carla Ferreira and her husband Mark of Westport, Marylou Zamorano and her husband Joseph of San Diego, CA, Donna Marshall and her late husband John of RI and Deborah Schindelwig of Taunton. She was the sister of the late Joan M. Leonard and Barbara A. Blake. She also leaves eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Tuesday, November 8th at 9 am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Ann’s Church in Raynham at 10 am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Monday from 5-7 pm. Burial will be in the family lot in St. Francis Cemetery in Taunton. Donations may be made in Carolyn’s memory to the National Shrine of Our Lady of LaSalette, 947 Park St., Attleboro, MA 02703.
