Martin Murray Hyman, 87, died on November 3rd at home in Camarillo surrounded by his family. His battle following a debilitating stroke gave all who knew him a life lesson in the meaning of true love, courage and grace. He was put on this earth to become the most devoted and amazing son, brother, husband, father, father in law, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather, cousin and loving friend to so many. His legacy to his family and friends was the gift of his time, his comforting presence and attention was a constant in all of our lives.
Marty was born in Los Angeles the son of Samuel Bernard Hyman and Anna Ray (Kelly), brother to Herbert and Edith. He attended LA High School, graduating from UCLA. His first job was with his dad at Catalina Swimsuits. After his dads passing, he established his own lifelong career in real estate investments.
He met the love of his life Eileen Gail Garber on a blind date and they were married in 1950, they recently celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. They were the proud parents of Steve, Ken, John and Tina, and maintained the family residence in the hills above West Los Angeles from 1950--1999 when Marty and Eileen moved to Camarillo, CA.
He was a jack of all trades, his passions were his family, friends, gardening, cooking and his dogs. He was the consummate family man, always available as 'chief counsel' confidant and true friend to all who knew him, his love and devotion were never in doubt.
