Obituary

Geraldine Robertson Odham, 90, of Tifton passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at her residence. A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 5, 2016, at Greenwood United Methodist Church Cemetery in Marion, Virginia, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband of 52 years. Jane West Blevins will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday, November 5, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Greenwood United Methodist Church in Marion, Virginia.

Born December 31, 1925 in Hopewell, West Virginia, Mrs. Odham was the daughter of the late Amos B. Robertson and Inez Pennington Robertson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” James Odham; and her brothers Billie Alvin Robertson and Ralph E. Robertson. After graduating high school in West Virginia, she worked in the mail room at the White House in Washington, D. C. She was one of the original Rosie the Riveter’s during World War II. She retired from Sears and Roebuck after 26 years of services and had been a pink lady at Tift Regional Medical Center. She was also part of the Tifton Golden Age Club and the First United Methodist Church of Tifton Kitchen Band.

Mrs. Odham is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Offelia Jean and John Robert Hill; her grandchildren, Alicia Diann Hill, Matthew Scott Hill and girlfriend, Tara Little and her daughter, Larkyn Little; her great-grandson, Zachary Taylor Ashlin; a sister-in-law, Jackie Robertson; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
