Stanley Evans, 59, of Irwin County, Georgia, died Thursday, November 3, 2016, at his residence surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Saturday, November 5, 2016, at the Ocilla Baptist Church, with David Bohler officiating. Interment will follow in the Big Creek Cemetery in Irwin County. The family will receive friends Friday evening, from 6 PM to 8 PM, at the Paulk Funeral Home in Ocilla.
Mr. Evans was born November 21, 1956, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late James Edward Evans, Jr. & the late Bobbie Pearl Dixon Evans McCrimmon. His mother and Wayne McCrimmon raised him following the death of his father. He lived in the community all of his life and graduated from Irwin County High School in 1974. He worked for Irwin EMC for 42 years as a service man and crew leader and was currently the Safety and Loss Prevention Manager. He enjoyed the Monday morning devotional with his EMC family. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid deer hunter and loved riding his motorcycle.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years: Marla Harper Evans of Irwin County; a son and his wife, Eric Evans & Jeannie of Irwin County and a daughter and her husband, Meghan Law & Jeremy of Waterloo; six grandchildren: Tyler Evans, Natalie Evans, Andrew Gray, Kristy Wheeler, Dixon Law and Davis Law; two brothers and their spouses: Rick & DeeDee Evans of Irwin County and Sam & Carmen Evans of Irwin County and father: Rev. Wayne McCrimmon & Joyce of Irwin County. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive as well as his Irwin EMC family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law: Shirlene Evans.
