Obituary

Joseph W. Nolan, 60, of Bellingham, formerly of Norfolk and Walpole, died November 2 in Milford Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of Karin (Janbergs) Nolan for the past 39 years.

Born in Chelsea, February 26, 1956, the son of Paul Nolan of Walpole and the late Helen (Hayes) Nolan, Mr. Nolan was raised in Walpole and had lived in Norfolk for 30 years before moving to Bellingham 2 years ago.

He was a 1974 graduate of Xaverian Brothers High School and also a graduate of Wentworth Institute of Technology with a degree in Civil Engineering.

Joe owned and operated Nolan Landscaping and Tree Company for 38 years.

Joe had been a member of the Walpole Call Firefighters for several years and when he moved to Norfolk became a member of the Norfolk Call Firefighters. He retired as a Lieutenant.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Wrentham Anglers Club and enjoyed playing golf and cribbage.

Joe was an active volunteer at St. Blaise Church Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry .

In addition to his wife and father he is survived by his children, Janet Hagopian and her husband Alan of Bellingham, Mark Nolan and his wife Tamara Sturges of Waltham and Julie Jones and her husband Gregory of Mansfield.

He is also survived by his siblings, Kathleen Levesque of Wrentham and Edward Nolan of Norfolk.

He was the grandfather of Andrew Joseph, Anna and Hazel.

His funeral will be held on Monday, November 7 from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street, Franklin at 9:00 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Blaise Church at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be private.

Calling hours will be on Sunday from 5-8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry, c/o St. Blaise Church, 1158 S. Main St., Bellingham, MA 02019.
