Obituary

Laconia-----Bradley Drummond Hayward, 87, formerly of Meredith, peacefully went to be with the Lord after a brief illness on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Laconia Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Born in Laconia on April 12, 1929 Bradley always joked that he “came in with the crash.” He was the son of Seward L. and Ethel M. (Kidder) Hayward.
Bradley served just shy of five years in the United States Navy where he was stationed aboard the USS Leyte during the Korean War, receiving a commendation for his service during this time.
He married the love of his life, Arlene Elizabeth (Tucker), on March 18, 1951 while he was still in the Navy. After Bradley was honorably discharged they settled down in Meredith, NH where he lived for over 50 years and they raised their family. He moved to Laconia in 2005 and attended New Covenant Christian Church until he was no longer able to do so.
Bradley spent more than 40 years working at the Meredith News, starting out as a typesetter with his job positions changing as the newspaper industry changed.
One of his favorite past-times was going out dancing with his wife. You could find them every Saturday night dancing together with friends at various Lakes Region venues.
Bradley is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Amie Hayward of Laconia, their three children Kristoffer, Trent and Trista, her fiance’ Scott Fulton as well as Bradley’s three great-grandchildren Dylan, Aliyah and Kendyl. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law Debra Hayward, granddaughter Jessica Bryant and her husband Cody all of Laconia.
Bradley is predeceased by his loving wife, Arlene, in March, 2003, and most recently his oldest son Steven Hayward passed away on October 9, 2016. He is also predeceased by his sister, Virginia Bouchard Moulton and his brother, Gordon Hayward.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at 10:30am in Union Cemetery, Academy Street, Laconia,N.H.
