Worcester- Walter J. Zukas, 86, of 96 Ward St., died Thursday, August 11, in the Odd Fellows Home.
He leaves his wife of 53 years, Jean T. (Kruczynski) Zukas; two sons, Walter X. Zukas of Boxborough and Philip A. Zukas of Hyde Park; a brother, William J. Zukas of Spencer; two sisters, Sally Miczek of Spencer and Ruth Izbicki of Worcester; three grandsons; nephews and nieces. He was born in New Haven, CT, son of William and Casimira (Jurgus) Zukas and lived here for many years.
Mr. Zukas was a carpenter for many years for the Carpenters Union Local 107.
He was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish and Carpenters Union Local 107. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, August 16, from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will be in Mary, Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer. Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, August 15, in the funeral home.
