Obituary

Franklin “Frank” Lee Brown, Sr., age 72, died Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at his home in Coffeeville, MS. He was born January 4, 1944 in Water Valley, MS to the late Clarence Lee Brown and Christene Shepherd Brown Farmer. Frank served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, was a retired barber and later retired from Mott’s Chicken Plant in Water Valley where he worked as a mechanic. He was a member of the Cowboy Church of Coffeeville, MS. He was an agricultural enthusiast who enjoyed gardening, raising animals, fishing, hunting, and running his sawmill. Frank was a devoted father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family and friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday, November 5, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Goshen Methodist Church in Coffeeville, MS. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at Goshen Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Goshen Church Cemetery.

Frank is survived by his daughter, Vicki (Rick) Scoggins of Coffeeville, MS; his son, Frankie Lee Brown, Jr. of Coffeeville, MS; his three sisters, Cathy (Carey) Sartain, Reeda (Jimmy) Cofer, all of Water Valley, MS and Sandra Cofer of Lafayette County, MS; one brother, Joe (Jane) Farmer of Bruce, MS; two grandchildren, Hayden Scoggins and Austin Brown; and two great-granddaughters, Rylan Scoggins and Kamryn Kent.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Brown; his sister, Jan Winters; and a brother, Lonnie Farmer.
