Mrs. Leola Marie (Boulay) Guillet, a resident of Andover since 1964 and beloved wife of the late Arthur O. Guillet, passed away at the Lawrence General Hospital in Lawrence on Tuesday morning, November 1, 2016. She was 85 years old.
Born in New Brunswick, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Edmund and Alma (Lavasser) Boulay. Mrs. Guillet was a graduate of the New Brunswick Teachers College in Canada and was employed as a school teacher for many years. A religious woman, Leola enjoyed cooking and reading her many cook books. She also enjoyed quilting, knitting and needlepoint. Leola was also fluent in French. Her door always open, Mrs. Guillet was a very pleasant mannered person, always putting everyone's needs before her own. Above all, she was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be dearly missed.
She was the loving mother of Raymond A. Guillet of Haverhill, Michael E. Guillet and his partner Leslie Alexander of Methuen, James R. and his wife Kathleen Guillet of Centennial, Colorado, Daniel N. and his wife Amy R. Guillet of Andover, Lisa J. and her husband Albert “Buddy” Vitagliano of Atkinson, New Hampshire, Jean-Marie Y. Finnegan of Denver, Colorado and Monique P. and her husband David McAvoy of Hampstead, New Hampshire, sister of Yvon Boulay of New Brunswick, Canada and Lorraine Bedard of Quebec, Canada. She is also survived by nineteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex Street, Andover on Monday, November 7, 2016 at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Calling hours will be held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover on Sunday, November 6, 2016, from 2 to 6 PM.
