Travis B. Pinn, Sr., age 83, of Mansfield, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at the VA Medical Center in Brockton. He was the husband of the late Joan (King) Pinn.
Born in Boston, MA on November 29, 1932, he was a son of the late Carl and Lucy (Charles) Pinn.
Travis grew up and was educated in Boston. He proudly served his country as member of the United States Army during the Korean War and later as a member of the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.
A resident of Mansfield for the past thirty years, he had previously made his home in Brockton. Mr. Pinn had been employed as a sheet metal worker in Somerville, prior to retiring.
Travis was a member of the Mansfield VFW and the Mansfield Lodge of Elks. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and was an avid baseball and football fan.
He is survived by his devoted children Lucy J. McLaren of Central Falls, RI, Cheryl Shoults of Missouri, Travis B. Pinn, Jr. of Athol, James T. Pinn of Quincy and Anna E. Litterio of Mansfield. He was the brother of Iwaldo Pinn of Alabama, and the late Lionel Pinn, Dora Pinn, Carl Pinn, Joan Pinn and Charles Pinn. He is also survived by his adoring 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and several nices and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend funeral services with military honors on Monday, November 7th at 2:00 P.M. at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
The procession will leave the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield at 12:45 P.M. on Monday.
Visiting hours are omitted and those wishing may remember Travis with a donation in his memory made to the New England Center for Homeless Veterans, 17 Court St., Boston, MA 02108.
