Kenneth R.J. Abazorius, 74

Kenneth R. J. “Beepa” Abazorius, age 74, of Norton, formerly of Foxboro, Norwood and Hyde Park, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 1, 2016.
Born in Boston, MA on July 28, 1942, he was a son of the late Anthony A. and Barbara E. (Conlon) Abazorius.
Ken grew up in the Mattapan section of Boston and was educated in Boston schools. During the Vietnam War, he proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army and was honorably discharged with the rank of SP4.
Prior to retiring, Mr. Abazorius had worked for over thirty years and retired as a supervisor at the former Franklin-Kensol Co. in Norwood. He had made his home in Norton for the past six years.
Ken especially enjoyed cooking, gardening, crossword puzzles, spending time with family and neighbors, and staying up on current affairs. At the time of his sudden passing, he was anticipating the birth of his fourth great grandchild.
He is survived by his devoted children Michele M. Abazorius-Whitaker and her husband David Whitaker, Sr. of Ohio, Marie A. Stephan and her husband Mark of Mansfield, Kenneth R. Abazorius and his wife Christina of Rhode Island and the late Melissa Abazorius. He was the brother of Anthony A. Abazorius of Norton, John M. Abazorius of Medfield and Barbara E. Cashen of Hyde Park. He was the loving partner of nineteen years to Cheryl Lowe of Norwood. He was the cherished grandfather of Elizabeth Whitaker, Emily Lowry, David Whitaker, Jr., Mark Stephan and Sydney Stephan, the great grandfather of Dakota, Dustin and Presley, and is also survived by several nephews and his niece Erin Cashen. He was also the former husband of the late Marie Keegan.
Services and burial will be private. Visiting hours have been omitted and those wishing may remember Kenneth with a donation in his memory made to the New England Center for Homeless Veterans, 17 Court St., Boston, MA 02108.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Norton memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St., Norton.
