Robert M. Scanlan of Westwood, formerly of Dennis and Milton, passed away peacefully in the company of friends and loved ones on October 31, 2016. He was 80 years old. Bob was born to the late Michael and Grace Scanlan on May 2, 1936. A proud 1959 graduate of Boston College, Bob also was a graduate of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking, Rutgers University and the Greater Boston Executive Program at The Sloan School, Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Bob enjoyed a long and productive career as an entrepreneur and financial executive in Boston, New York City, and Tokyo, employed at various times by the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, Keystone Custodian Funds, The Harborview Group, and Morgan Stanley Dean Witter. Bob also proudly served as Chairman of the Carney Hospital Fundraising Committee. He is survived by his former wife Joanne Scanlan of Yarmouthport. Loving father of Robert M. Scanlan Jr. and his wife Patricia of Dennis, Timothy J. Scanlan and his wife Dr. Karen Scanlan of Westwood, Daniel F. Scanlan and his wife Ellen Rubin of Westwood, and Grace M. Nunziato and her husband James of Medfield. Loving brother of Jeanne McCarthy and her husband Robert of Dennis, and the late Richard Scanlan and Anne Pushard. Proud grandfather of Erin, Bud, Caroline, Molly, Tory, Sophie, Dante, Charlotte, and Dominic. Bob is also survived by eight cherished nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be Thursday, November 3rd from 4-8 pm in the Pushard Family Funeral Home, 210 Sherman Street, Canton, MA. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Friday, November 4th at St. John the Evangelist Church 700 Washington St., Canton, MA. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in West Roxbury.
