John G Henderson, 85, of Worcester, died on October 29, surrounded by his family. He leaves his sons, John L. of Worcester and James of West Boylston, and daughter-in-law, Lisa and granddaughter, Liliana of West Boylston. His loving wife, Theresa died in 2012.
He is the son of James and Anna (Igoe) Henderson. He is predeceased by his brothers, Paul, Donald, and Allan and his sister’s, Anne Rivers, Jean Henninger, Julie Purtell and Elizabeth McGann.
John also leaves his loving companion, Shirley who predeceased him in 2011 and her daughter, Linda Almeida.
He was an Army veteran, who served with the United States Constabulary in Bavaria, Germany after WWII. He worked for several years as a clerk for Crompton and Knowles, and in maintenance for both the Worcester Art Museum and WPI. John was an avid Patriot’s fan, as well as a fan of all Boston sports.
John’s family would like to thank the VNA of Worcester for the exceptional care that they provided.
John’s Visiting Hours will be held on Tuesday, November 1st from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at FAY BROTHERS Funeral Home 1 West Boylston St., West Boylston. His Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 2nd at 10:00am in Our Lady of The Rosary Church, 23 Fales St, Worcester. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery in Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to VNA of Worcester, 120 Thomas St Worcester.
