Obituary

Edward A. “Eddie” Jones, 59, of Londonderry, NH passed away in peace at Mass General Hospital on October 28, 2016, after a valiant fight to recover from a bi-lateral lung transplant. Throughout this two-year journey Eddie was surrounded by many great friends and family who supported him.

Eddie was born on November 8, 1956 in East Derry at the Alexander Eastman Hospital to the late Albert and Theresa (Stock) Jones. Eddie attended elementary schools in Londonderry and was a 1975 graduate of Pinkerton Academy then continuing his education at Manchester Technical College earning an Associate's Degree.

Eddie was a skilled outdoorsman who loved the great challenges and travel from hunting. Whether it was caribou in the Tundra, deer in Pennsylvania, or boar in Maine each were an exciting adventure, fishing wherever there was water from Lake Ontario to the Caribbean. Sharing his hunting and fishing bounty with his Man Night buddies on Wednesday nights, was something Eddie looked forward to each week. He was a member of the Chester Rod & Gun Club and Rockys Rangers.

He was a devoted family man always finding the time to be involved with his children. Sharing in countless activities including ice fishing; snowmobiling and any outdoor escapade. He loved travels with his wife and children, from winters at Nordic Village to spending summers at Old Orchard Beach, Maine. Eddie's sense of adventure led him and his family on multiple cruises and many vacation destinations including a trip to Europe.

Eddie's career began working at First Lumber and Supply as a yard foreman for many years. This hardworking man then dedicated his life to Pinkerton Academy where he worked for 23 years until his illness forced him to retire. He was a true "Astro at heart" who was inducted into the Pinkerton Hall of Fame and it was one of the proudest moments in his life. His commitment to Pinkerton was truly respectable. This respected man also owned and operated his own business Jones Custom Floor Care and Cleaning for over 20 years. People who knew and love Eddie would consider him to have a great influence on their life. He was known as the "The man, the myth, the legend" he could light up any room with his infectious smile and sense of humor. He was the grill master, the horseshoe champion and was known for his gut busting laughs and great compassion for others, The Patriots and Bruins have lost an enthusiastic fan. His genuine soul made Eddie truly one of a kind who will be missed by so MANY.

He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 27 years Elizabeth Olivari Jones; his daughters Taylor Jones, Alexandra and her husband Dan Proulx; and his two precious grandchildren Keegan and Maeve. He is survived by two older children Hollie Herrick and her daughter Cortney, and Edward Jones; his brother Richard Jones; his mother in law Evelyn Olivari, sister and brother in law Robert and Teresa Enos; and his nieces Bianca and Felicia Enos, as well as members of his large extended family. He was predeceased by his brother Donald Jones.

Calling hours were held at the Peabody Funeral Home, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry on Thursday November 3, 2016 from 3:30 - 8:00pm. A funeral mass was celebrated at St. Jude Parish, 435 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry on Friday at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ed Jones Fund, C/O TD Bank, 35 Manchester Rd., Derry, NH 03038.
