FALL RIVER – Maria da Luz “Mary Lou” (Martins) Santos, age 63 of Fall River, passed away at home on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016 with her loving family by her side. Born in Arrifes, São Miguel, Açores, she was the beloved wife of Antonio J. Santos and the daughter of the late Manuel & Merces (Borges) Martins. Mary Lou currently worked for Joseph Abboud Inc., New Bedford and was also a parishioner of Santo Christo Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two daughters: Michelle Smith, her husband Timothy of Warren, RI and Leslie Marques, her husband Steve of Fall River; three grandchildren: Melania & Audriana Smith, and Abbigail Marques; siblings: Olquete Silva of Vancouver, Canada, Merces Rocha of Tiverton, RI, Conceicão Luciano, Manuel Silva, & Jose Martins all of Fall River, Herminio Martins, Lucia Cordeiro, & Cidalia Oliveira all of Canada; many nieces & nephews.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Thursday here at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Santo Christo Church at 9:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
