Josephine R. (Dascoli) Saia passed away peacefully at the Glen Ridge Nursing Home after a brief illness. She was 85. Born and Raised in Boston’s West End, she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Anna Dascoli. Josephine lived in Somerville for many years and returned to the West End in her retirement. She enjoyed a long career with Filene’s in Boston. She was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed good times with her family and many friends.
The beloved wife of the late Dominic Saia, she was a devoted mother to Barbara Saia-Houlihan and her husband Patrick. She was a dear sister to Dominic "Donny" Dascoli, John Dascoli, the late Rose Kelley, Alfred "Sonny" Dascoli, Barbara Intravaia and Paul Dascoli. Josephine also leaves many dear nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Thursday, November 3rd at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Ann Church, 399 Medford Street, Somerville, at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit at the funeral home Wednesday 4 – 8 PM.
