Cynthia Herrick, age 56, of Ashland, formerly of West Newton, died peacefully on Monday, October 17, 2016 at the Stanley R. Tippett Hospice Home in Needham. Her passing followed a courageous struggle with cancer, throughout which she maintained her love of nature, caring for her plants and delighting in the sound of birds chirping.
Cindy had been a public school teacher and was employed as a docent with The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Cindy showered her pets with love and shared her time and love for animals as a longtime volunteer with the MSPCA. She excelled in keeping a healthy array of flowers and herbs in her gardens and had a knack for cultivating orchids.
Beyond work and hobbies, Cynthia will be remembered for her extraordinary ability to make heartfelt connections. Cindy was a compassionate, forgiving, sweet natured woman who always had time for others. A one-of-a-kind friend, she generously shared gifts and greeting cards, and most importantly, her loving presence, with her friends.
Cindy will be greatly missed by all of those who had the blessing of knowing her.
Friends are welcome to join in a memorial gathering at the Stanley R. Tippett Hospice Home, 920 South Street, Needham, (MA 02492) on Thursday, November 3rd at 3:30PM. Memorial donations may be made to the Tippett Home at the above address.
