Ruth E. (Raymond) Hall, 67 of Salem, passed away unexpectedly Friday, October 28, 2016, at the NSMC / Salem Hospital with her family by her side. She was the devoted wife of Stephen V. Hall with whom she shared 46 years of marriage.
Born in Lynn and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Barbara E. (Day) Raymond. A graduate of Salem High, Ruth and Steve married shortly after her graduation. She devoted her early years to the raising of her young family. She was hostess for Bertini’s Restaurant in Salem for over 18 years.
Ruth loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren whom she adored. She also was an excellent cook who enjoyed preparing “Sunday Dinner” which was a weekly family event.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Denise B. Lee and her husband Mark, two sons, Daniel R. Hall and his wife Jessica and Stephen R. Hall and his wife Jessica all of Salem, a sister, Loretta A. Bates and her husband William of Andover, NH, six grandchildren, Emma & Matthew Lee, Addison & Avery Hall and Grace and Hunter Hall, as well as nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her niece and goddaughter, Cheri P. Bates, her Aunt Ruth Lawton to whom she was very close and her special four legged companion Jack.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visiting hours on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM in the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Route 114 / 1-A] Salem. Her funeral service will be in the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:30 AM.
