Blythe, GA – Mr. Robert Turner Wiggins, 74, beloved husband of Kathy Gay Wiggins, entered into rest on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at his residence.
A celebration of Mr. Wiggins life will be held Tuesday evening, November 1, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Platt’s Crawford Avenue Chapel.
Mr. Wiggins was a graduate of the Academy of Richmond County as well as Augusta College. He served his country proudly during the Vietnam War with the United States Air Force. One of his proudest professional achievements was being assigned to NORAD as a Staff Sargent to work in the Chidlaw Building. Mr. Wiggins retired after 34 years of faithful service from Gracewood State School and Hospital where he was a MHMR Unit Director. He had been a member of the Board of Directors of Richmond County Federal Credit Union and was also served on numerous other Committees and Boards. Mr. Wiggins will be remembered by his family as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Wiggins is survived by his daughters, Dana C. Wiggins, and Lisa D. Wiggins; his granddaughter, Maya S. Duncan; a nephew, Charles H. Wiggins, III; and several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles H. Wiggins, Sr. and Willie Mae Irick Wiggins; his daughter, Juli J. Wiggins; and by his brothers, Charles H. Wiggins, Jr., and Richard E. Wiggins.
