WAYLAND: Cyrilla M. (Harrison) Krauss, 76, died peacefully and comfortably surrounded by her family at her residence in Wayland on Saturday, October 29, 2016 following a period of declining health.
She was born in Boston on May 29, 1940 the daughter of the late Cyril A. Harrison and Mary T. (Scavitto) Harrison of Boston, MA.
Cyrilla was the devoted wife for 54 years of the late Adam E. Krauss who died on November 12, 2014. Besides her mother Mary T. Harrison of Boston, she was the devoted mother of Stephen E. Krauss and his wife Wendy C. Krauss of Holliston and their children Meghan and Andrew Krauss; Mark J. Krauss and his wife Kelly A. Krauss of Millis and their children Jennifer, Julia, Jessica, Matthew and Timothy Krauss; Laura M. Barger and her husband Scott A. Barger of Cumberland, RI and their children Nichole and Christopher Barger.
She was the sister of Pauline Foley of Norwood; MaryAnn Fitzpatrick of North Carolina; Virginia Ryan of Hingham; Caroline Harris of North Carolina; Richard Harrison of Stoughton; Frances Harrison of Jamaica Plain and James Harrison of Medfield. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Cyrilla has been a resident of Wayland for over 48 years and previously resided in Watertown. She spent her formative years in Jamaica Plain and graduated from Blessed Sacrament High School in Jamaica Plain. She attended Northeastern University. In her earlier years she was associated with Raytheon in the Missile Department. She was also a school bus driver for over 15 years with the Town of Wayland Public School System.
She was a longtime and active communicant of Saint Zepherin Church in Wayland. She participated on the craft committee of the Parish Fair and the Womens Club of the church. She was a very talented and creative crafter and enjoyed sewing and a variety of craft projects. A very special part of Cyrilla’s life were the family holiday traditions she instilled in her family.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and cherished the time spent with all of her grandchildren.
Visitations will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Wayland.
Family and friends are cordially invited to go directly to her Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 10:00 am at Good Shepherd Parish at St. Zepherin Church, 99 Main St (Rte. 27), Wayland.
Interment will follow in the Krauss family lot in Lakeview Cemetery in Wayland.
In lieu of flowers her family kindly suggests the memorial gifts in Cyrilla’s memory may be sent to Saint Zepherin Church.
